Shelter

Single residents live 3-4 to a bedroom.  Families are housed in their own rooms.  Residents share kitchens, baths, living rooms, laundry and lounge areas.  Residents are responsible for their own cooking.  Trust House residents may visit our food pantry if they need assistance with groceries.  Residents complete daily chores to maintain the house in addition to caring for their own living space.  Residents have access to an in-house library and computers with internet access.  Residents are offered weekly Life Skills training, the option to attend a sober living group and multiple other activities that are captured on a monthly calendar of events.

Therapeutic Case Management

Trust House offers therapeutic case management to every resident.  The Case Manager, a Qualified Mental Health Professional, meets at least once a week with each resident.  The Case Manager assists residents in the development of an individualized Life Management Plan in order to develop goals to work toward while living at Trust House and to prepare for success beyond their stay at Trust House.  The Case Manager works with each resident individually to link them with community resources and make referrals for services that will benefit them and assist them in reaching their goals.  The Case Manager works with residents to obtain housing; manage healthcare and medications; and to meet any personal goals established by the resident.  Therapeutic Case Management activities vary on a case by case basis and are based on the needs of each resident.

Skills Development for Self Sufficiency

Trust House offers programming that aims to make residents more successful at maintaining self-sufficiency upon their move into permanent housing.  A Life Skills group is offered each Tuesday evening.  Life Skills programming addresses: health; income development and maintenance; job skills; education; housing; financial literacy; community resources; self-help skills; independent living skills; and therapeutic resources.

Credit Remediation, Budgeting and Savings

Residents at Trust House are assisted in obtaining a credit report and developing a strategy to improve credit scores.  Two household budgets are developed: the first anticipates expenses while at Trust House and the second anticipates expenses after a resident has obtained permanent housing.  Residents are asked to save 60% of take home pay after their first thirty days.  Households are encouraged to develop a savings goal that considers: rent; security deposit; utility deposits; pantry expense; moving costs; and rainy day savings.
